Supportive Book Workshop
Not just another book group! This is an interactive and reflective small group support using concepts from a book. We explore a variety of books together, figuring out how they can steer us toward the life we want. Sessions are hands-on, interactive, and supportive.
Chat, reflect, and connect.
Each season, we read and discuss a new book over five weeks.
Our groups are small and held virtually via Zoom
Supportive Book Workshops and Retreats offered each season of the year!
There are so many books on the market, and I don’t know about you, but I often finish a book and think, “That’s interesting,” but don’t engage with the material and consider my options for change.
Within my practice, I noticed that when I recommended a book for clients to read on their own time, the book often wasn’t utilized. This is why I created a book workshop to create a space to support exploration throughout the reading.
It’s interactive, supportive, reflective, and provides connection with others. I always learn something new from the group members!
What’s included
(5) 60- 90 min. virtual small group meetings to process the scheduled reading
5 weeks of journal prompts and videos related to the readings
Online support materials, including additional resources on discussed topics.
Fall Book Workshop
Let’s explore another book together this season.
The Fall book pick, The Perfectionist’s Guide to Losing Control by Katherine Morgan Schafler
My hope in leading group reading is that we stay curious about what parts of the book might align in supporting us to move towards the life we desire and value. The group space allows us to stay open to other perspectives, including those of the author. One reason I love exploring books is piquing curiosity into additional ways to support us through life with openness to exploration and learning together in a connected way.
We’ll meet live for five weeks to discuss and reflect via Zoom. I’ll divide the reading and support to explore for each session. Supplemental support may include journal prompts, video summaries of chapter content, additional resources, and insights.
Cost: $55 ($11 a week)
Sessions will be 60-90 minutes in length.
Providing 2 different groups this fall:
Sunday 10 am CST via Zoom
Monday 7pm CST via Zoom
Sunday dates: 9/7, 9/14, 9/28, 10/5, 10/19
Monday dates: 9/8, 9/15, 9/29, 10/6, 10/20
Book Group Details
How does this differ from a book club?
The supportive book group is run like a course or workshop rather than a traditional book club. The book is divided into sections, and we read it together over five weeks vs. a book club where everyone reads independently and comes together after completing the book.
Supplemental resources may include- journal prompts, video reflections, and additional readings shared via an online course tool.
We explore the book for each member and provide a space to process and share.
This isn’t your average book club! Whether you never actually read a book with a group, watch videos, journal from prompts, or listen and share in meetings. This group provides many options to learn, reflect, and grow with the support of a book!
What if I have questions or want to explore themes from the book outside of the group meetings?
That’s awesome! You are always welcome to add a 45-minute one-on-one coaching session with Megan for an additional fee.
Why do you cap the group to ten people?
The group is intentionally small to allow time and reflection for each member to feel they have space to process.
Where do we meet?
All sessions are held virtually over Zoom. Session times and dates change each season. Sessions are 60- 90 minutes.
How much does it cost?
The five-week Supportive Book Group Program costs $60.
There’s optional One-on-one coaching add-on for an additional fee.
Is the book included in the program cost?
Book is included in seasonal book box add on and is purchased from a small independent bookstore to support local woman-owned businesses.
